General Instructions
Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript is original, unpublished and not
under consideration with any other journal, magazine, website, institution or publication
platform. The manuscript should contribute meaningfully to legal research, policy analysis,
judicial discussion or socio-legal development.
Submission Guidelines
- The manuscript should be submitted in MS Word format (.doc/.docx).
- The title of the manuscript should be clear, specific and appropriate to the subject.
- The manuscript must be original, unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere.
- The submission must be free from plagiarism. Proper attribution and citation are mandatory.
- Full names of all author(s), along with affiliation(s), email ID(s) and contact details, must be provided.
- Any uniform method of citation may be followed, but it must remain consistent throughout the manuscript.
- The manuscript should be properly structured with headings and sub-headings wherever required.
- Avoid excessive formatting, decorative fonts, coloured text, page borders and unnecessary styling.
- Authors must proofread the manuscript before submission to remove spelling, grammatical and formatting errors.
Formatting Requirements
- Body text: Times New Roman, font size 12.
- Line spacing: 1.5 for the main body.
- Footnotes: Times New Roman, font size 10.
- Footnote spacing: Single line spacing.
- Margins: 4 centimeters on all sides.
- Page borders should not be used.
Manuscript Structure
- Title of the manuscript.
- Abstract of 150–250 words.
- Keywords: 4–6 relevant keywords.
- Main Text with headings and sub-headings.
- Footnotes/Citations in a consistent format.
- Author Details: Name, affiliation, email ID and contact number.
Theme
- Any appropriate theme related to socio-legal aspects is acceptable.
- Interdisciplinary research is encouraged, including law with public policy, economics, sociology, technology, governance and business.
- Contemporary issues, doctrinal analysis, comparative perspectives, policy-focused writing and case-based research are welcome.
- Authors may write on constitutional law, criminal law, corporate law, intellectual property, cyber law, human rights, arbitration, environmental law, labour law, consumer law and other legal areas.
Word Limit
- Articles: 3000–5000 words including footnotes.
- Short Notes: 2000–3000 words including footnotes.
- Book Reviews: 1000–2000 words including footnotes.
- Case Commentaries: 1000–3000 words including footnotes.
The word limit may be relaxed at the discretion of the editorial board.

- Independent researchers working on legal and policy issues.
Originality & Plagiarism Policy
WHITE BLACK LEGAL follows a strict originality policy. Any form of plagiarism,
improper paraphrasing, unattributed reproduction of content, fabricated references
or excessive similarity may lead to rejection at the screening stage. Authors must ensure
that all sources are duly cited and referenced through footnotes.
Submission Email Format
- Subject Line: Submission – [Category] – [Title of Manuscript]
- Attachment: Manuscript in .doc/.docx format.
- Email Body: Author name(s), affiliation(s), contact number and a brief 2–3 line author note.
- Optional: Plagiarism report, if available.
Editorial Screening & Review
All submissions are first screened for scope, formatting compliance, originality and
basic editorial suitability. Manuscripts that meet the basic requirements may be taken
forward for editorial or peer review, as applicable. The editorial decision may include
acceptance, minor revisions, major revisions or rejection.
Author Responsibility
- Authors are responsible for the accuracy of facts, citations and references.
- Authors must ensure lawful use of third-party material.
- Authors must confirm that the manuscript does not violate any copyright or intellectual property rights.
- Authors should ensure that all co-authors have approved the final manuscript before submission.
Important Notes
- Submissions not following the formatting requirements may be returned for correction.
- Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee publication.
- The final publication decision shall rest with the editorial board.
- Publication and certificate release shall be processed after acceptance and completion of required formalities.
